One of the things we love about photographing owner-occupied homes is that they already have something many short-stay properties try to create: character.

This apartment wasn't originally designed as an Airbnb. The owner relocated interstate for work and decided to rent out the property while away. As a result, the space is filled with personal touches that make it feel warm, lived-in, and welcoming — from carefully chosen furniture to the collection of plants on the balcony.

Our goal for this shoot wasn't just to document the rooms. We wanted to capture the feeling of coming home after a long day, making a cup of tea, and settling into your own little sanctuary.
